my farewell function
Sayonara 2005 – An InsightThis Sunday wasn't just another Sunday. This Sunday stood for the sweet victory of the underdogs, for the jubilant triumph of the underestimated, for the swift execution of the unplanned, for the pride of being engineering graduates. (Okay now it’s getting lame.) To keep it short n simple….It was the day to say “Sayonara”. It was our farewell function.Just when final yr. students started talking “ No there would not be any farewell ..lets celebrate it ourselves..( computer dept. had already arranged it at Las Vegas)” Juniors Saved Our Souls. Sayonara started with Big Bang.1st may, Vinayak Garden ..4.30pm onwards..the function officially started with “uunt ki sawari”. I missed the scene ..but idea sounds pretty interesting.!!! Our seniors had done it with tracter..we are better off with uunt(camel). So when the Big bosses arrived juniors greeted them with Roli tilak n teeka..but not many were interested..esp girls ( “Not me..it would spoil my bindi..chalo choti si laaga do”) It was nice to see the make over of every Jassi to Jessica..everyone had taken long to deck up..esp with all those saries rapped around…Big Deal.As expected, function started at 7.30 pm. I wonder…. had right time been written on invitation..people would have arrived at midnight. Initially there was some skit going on..I donot remember much of it..but as everyone else was laughing….Good Job. Rishabh and Seemant were desperately trying to put a matchbox in a pair of shoes.@#$%%@*&Next was the turn of Principal n Director sir…Surprise(nothing short of miracle)…. we got very few words ..no longer than 2 minutes. Perhaps they were missing their great listeners..i mean other faculty members…So where were the teachers?. I guess they were also invited. If these people had been there, they could have realized the true strength of the college. Many new faces appeared. These rare species are found only at two places..either at examination hall or in college functions. In between there was a memento giving ceremony. I think computer ppl are most decent ones. They received their gifts quite respectably. There was a little hotchpotch with E&C. And with Mech PI nobody knew what was going on.. absolutely clueless.Good times ahead…big round of photo session followed. Every one came into clicking action. Boys finally got the chance to ask girls” Can I take a photograph with u?” After a little no no..girls were flashing their ear to ear smiles before cameras. Lights, Camera, Action…everything was taken care of..all permutations and combinations were made until the film role lasted.Next came.. food and dance. People were eating and then sweating it out on dance floor…there were some others who were drinking n then getting started on dance floor.!!All the moves , twists n turns ..it wasn’t bad enough...rather it was nice to discover some butterflies coming out of their cocoon. Then followed the most inevitable climax…….We have a long history of ending our college functions with fists, fights n quarrels. As this was our last party we couldnot have broken the tradition. I left early so I missed that session..but heard abt it later. Knives n swords were out pretty soon . This time we had a special attraction…...the presence of Indian police services. Next day I saw some black eyes announcing the successful completion of last night party. For Juniors: party was great.. we had some memorable moments to cherish forever and ever.
Inside Out
Here is an account of nitty gritties of life which touch me somewhere. Everyday several things cross my mind...n this is an attemopt to give my thoughts some words. So this is what I think n perhaphs this is how i feel. So it's not just that I think therefore I am...but I feel therefore I am too...
